David Armistead

David Armistead is a strategist, futurist and business consultant who began involvement with futures studies and the roots of the social web in the late 1970s and continues today in his role as a Founder and Partner at Social Web Strategies LLC, an Austin consulting firm helping business strategize and implement the use of social web technologies (www.socialwebstrategies.com).

Mr. Armistead is also an activist for sustainability: he is a co-founder of the Austin area green think tank – BrightGreen; he serves on the board of the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems; he is a co-author of the recent ‘Texas Sustainability EcoEconomic Initiative,’ paper, published by IC2 in the October ’08 issue of Texas Business Review; and he serves as Executive Director of Hands of the Community Inc., a 501(c)(3) community based organization focused on sustainability (http://handsofthecommunity.org), the arts (www.movingloveproductions.com), and positive social and personal change.
