Paul Walker has more than 25-years of experience in general management, brand development, market development, business development, venture investing and consulting. He has lived and worked extensively in Asia, Europe and all three U.S. coasts.
Paul is currently responsible for Cohn & Wolfe's Texas operations, as well as the award-winning Cohn & Wolfe Digital. In both roles his mission is the same: Advise Cohn & Wolfe's clients on how they can exploit digital and social media - blended with more traditional marketing and communications -- to build their brands, develop markets and sell more products and services.
A good example is his work for Dell, a Fortune 25 company. Paul lead a project to develop and implement a comprehensive, new Digital Media capability for the company which included digital media strategy development; monitoring on-line channels; rapid response and resolution of customer service issues; digital influencer relations; Direct2Dell, the companies first weblog (also in Chinese and Spanish); One Dell Way, an internal blogging program; Studio Dell, educational videos; IdeaStorm, a crowdsourcing program; www.regeneration.org, a green community program; and more. He is currently advising MasterCard, ExxonMobil, Nokia, Allstate, Nike, Iron Mountain, Genpact and a number of other U.S. and European companies on digital media opportunities.
Formerly, he was a founder of GameChange, a Silicon Valley seed fund created by Accenture and Mobius Venture Capital, where he both invested in companies and worked with them on strategy, sales and marketing. Prior to his stint in venture capital, Paul spent 10 years at Accenture in leadership brand management, image development, market development and business development roles across a wide range of industries and service lines. In 1993, the company (then known as Andersen Consulting) hired Paul from Y&R/Burson-Marsteller to run its Pan-Asian market development efforts, including Japan, China and Australia.
Prior to joining Andersen Consulting, Paul spent 10 years at Y&R/B-M. He was the managing director of Y&R/Burson-Marsteller in Singapore. He also founded the company’s Indonesian office. Formerly, he was a vice president in the firm’s New York office, where he started its hi-technology practice in 1983.
Paul is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. Today he co-teaches a course on digital and social media in the College of Communications.
Paul is on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas. He is a master swimmer with Longhorn Aquatics and loves to compete. Paul resides with his wife and son in Austin, Texas.
