Ian Strain-Seymour leads Apogee Search's product development team, working to deliver next generation tools for Apogee's teams. He espouses the credo that "he/she/it with the best data wins". With expertise in web analytics, online marketing, ecommerce, and user experience design, Ian assists Apogee’s client in defining their goals and then creating the strategic plan to achieve those goals.
He speaks and writes on topics related to web & marketing, search marketing, user experience design, and the emergence of the semantic web.
Prior to his work at Apogee, Ian was the Director of Strategic Accounts & Consulting for Coremetrics. He also led the Strategic Information Planning team at Macquarium Intelligent Communications, a leading interactive agency based in Atlanta, GA. Companies has worked with include IHG, QVC, Lands End, Estee Lauder, W.W. Grainger, HSBC, StorageTek, and Sam Goody.
Ian attended Georgia Tech’s graduate program in Information Design and Technology. That was his second tour of duty at Georgia Tech; his first was an undergraduate student in architecture, where he learned to think of the world as a design problem. He was fortunate enough to spend a year studying in Paris, where he learned a lot about architecture, urban planning, art, and France, but his French is still bad.
When not online, Ian can be found trying to raise his son, catching up on his reading, clearing out his DVR, traveling, or learning to sketch (again). You can follow Ian as @ifss on Twitter or read his posts on Apogee Search’s blog or his own blog, IFSS Land.
