Synopsis:
The "Communication Trends that Matter Most in Social Media" panel will explore the trends that public relations professionals, communications officers and emerging media specialists find most important for keeping companies on the forefront in adopting social media. Media shifts, PR 2.0 concepts, challenges and solutions, the mindset of the corporate culture and the effectiveness of case studies employing social media tools - will be discussed amongst a distinguished panel consisting of Paul Walker, Cohn & Wolfe; Christi Day, Southwest Airlines; Bob Pearson, Dell; and Cynthia Baker, Accolades PR.

One of the top 10 PR firms nationally, Cohn & Wolfe has an Austin office that is actually a hub for social media work with approximately 50% of the communications business focused on digital media. Paul is currently responsible for Cohn & Wolfe's Texas operations, as well as the award-winning Cohn & Wolfe Digital.
Christi Day
Christi Day is an online Spokesperson and Emerging Media Specialist for Southwest Airlines, a corporate culture that has embraced social media tools as a means of communication in business, customer relations and promotions. She consistently works to keep Southwest Airlines preeminent in the new media world and has been the author of several successful story placements creating positive buzz for Southwest Airlines.
Bob Pearson
Vice-President of Communications and Conversations at Dell, Bob Pearson has been a major agent of change in gaining acceptance and support for social media to flourish in his corporate environment. Dell has transformed their corporate culture to the point that social media is now part of everyday operations. As a member of Dell’s Communications team, he is responsible for digital media activities, ranging from customer resolution to management of IdeaStorm, Direct2Dell, StudioDell and other digital initiatives.
Cynthia Baker (Moderator)
Cynthia Baker is the Founder and President of Accolades PR, a progressive PR firm that creates strategic communications campaigns that blend traditional PR, optimized PR and social media to meet business initiatives.
